Suitable hub heights are chosen for the considered wind turbines. Wind statistics for each WTG position is calculated with the help of numerical modeling such as Wind Atlas (WAsP) Method and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics software. For each WTG, an altitude specific air density, and therefore, power curve is used. In addition, the changes in wind flow at the project area and wake losses are computed. Long term mean net energy production is then evaluated by deducting potential energy losses (availability, wind sector management, electrical, high wind hysteresis, utility, etc.). Comparative charts are being prepared to help in choosing the most efficient and economical wind turbine which shall provide highest energy production per investment.
